In the last few weeks he has really discovered his gums and the ability to chew things. He chews on the bottle’s nipple instead of sucking, so he hasn’t been eating as much as playing after the first 3 ounces of formula.
This evening, when Morgan woke up from his nap and I was playing with him on the couch, Megan came in with a banana. He became really excited (Megan has given him a taste of a banana a few times). He loves the taste, texture and just trying to hold the banana!
Well, tonight he bit a chunk off the banana with his gums and then dropped the banana from his mouth. I quickly noticed the piece missing and fished it out of his mouth. So, we decided to have some fun and give hime a try at watered down rice cereal…we as new parents were so excited (as animated as he was about the banana)!
He did quite well for his first time. Of course, he made a mess, but had fun with Mom and Dad watching so intently. He loved grabbing the spoon away and chewing on it. Most of the rice cereal, as we expected ended up on his bib.
Enjoy the pictures…

How fun! Isn’t it exciting to try new things with our kids!! I’m glad you had so much fun feeding him!
How exciting! Each new food is fun to try. Spencer likes some better than others but it is all a journey. Good luck!!
It is fun watching him grow!
It looks like he had fun.
I’m glad. Keep the pictures coming. He’s fun to look at.
