Father’s Day and a new Blog

June 24, 2009

Happy Fathers Day! I’m going to post more about it at our other blog. It’s randyandmegan.blogspot.com…this wordpress is just too complicated so I am hoping I’ll be able to use blogspot. Everyone tells me it is more simple. Check it out!

Arizona

June 24, 2009

Okay so I am SUPER slow at updating but with a little encouragement (thanks Mary) I am finally posting about out trip.  It was a quick 4 day trip down to Tucson and back and WOW was it a lot of time in the car.  Not my favorite way to pass the time but we did alright.  Morgan was sure a trooper and didn’t do too bad himself.  I think he might have done better than I did. We visited Hoover Dam, the Crandall family, Saguaro National Park, two Missions, and the Grand Canyon. It was great fun! Thanks Coach for letting us stow away in your car with you. I can’t seem to get the picture thing right so for now you’ll just have to click on view all images to see them. I’ll keep working on it…wish me luck.

Summer break!

June 2, 2009

Summer break is almost here!  I am soooo excited.  Friday is the last day for this school year and then I’m off for the summer.  We have lots of fun plans too so that’s even better.  This weekend we are headed to Tuscon to visit the Crandall family and it’s gonna be hot.  Yuck.  It should be a great time though.  I’ll blog about it when we get back…have to remember the camera.

Morgan is becoming such a monkey!  He loves to climb anything and everything.  This picture is blurry but it does show his favorite past time now.  The only problem is that he hasn’t figured out how to climb back down!

He really enjoys reading.

The Ladybug book is his favorite.

He also really likes pancakes but he has to hold the entire pancake.
No torn up pieces on his highchair tray for this little guy.

How in the world??

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner when I noticed Morgan had gotten really quiet.  Everyone knows that with children noisy is good and quiet is bad.  I headed into the living room to see what he was doing and this is what I found:
Where's the baby??

There he is!!

Thumbs up

He liked it there so much that I decided to just leave him there.  He spent many a quiet moments there and I was definately okay with that!  What a funny kid.  The weirdest things entertain him. He’s a hoot!!!

Easter and other Pictures!

April 15, 2009

In the past three weeks I have had two of my brother get married.  Congrats Ryan and ShYawn/Sean/Shawn/Shaun (however it’s spelled).  They each married wonderful women and couldn’t have asked for anything better.  It’s been fun to see my family so much.  Here are some pictures from our adventures.

I wish I had more pictures to share with everyone.  I can’t find the pictures from Shawn and Kelly’s reception 😦 so that’s a bummer.  We had a great time in Idaho and Morgan was the life of the party.  Thank you to my mom and Devin who both helped out so much while I was sick.  Love you!

Tagged!

March 25, 2009

I’ve been tagged!  This is a new one and it’s really simple so here we go.

Rules: 1. Go to my documents/pictures. 2. Go to my 6th file folder. 3. Go to my 6th picture. 4. Blog about it. 5. Tag 6 people to do the same.

I must confess that we have about a MILLION pictures.  Because of this, we have folders within folders within folders…I tried to follow the instructions as best I could with what we’ve got.

Chris and Jeanette

Chris and Jeanette

I honestly have no idea when this was taken.  I’m pretty sure it was before Randy and I were married.  Jeanette is Randy’s sister.  I have to tell you that these two people are amazing.  They are foster parents and I swear they put up with more than anyone should have to.  The world needs more couples like them.  They finally got to adopt their first little boy, Kendon, last year.

I tag: Cylista, Kristen, Chalen, Jodi, Becky, Lori!!  Thanks Dannel.  🙂

Couples Tag

March 10, 2009

My friend Cylista did this on her blog. I thought it was fun to read so i thought I’d do it.

This is kind of like the 25 things – except there are pre-decided questions and it’s about you and your spouse, not just you. Then tag whoever you want to do this! This is fun…

♥ What are your middle names? Evans and Jay

How long have you been together? We started dating in May of 2006 so almost three years now!

♥ How long did you know each other before you started dating? We were in the same ward for nine months previous to dating but Randy simply ignored me.  🙂

♥ Who asked who out? Randy asked me and we went on a double date with Sierra and Dan who are moving back to Utah!  Yay.

♥ How old are each of you? I’m 27 and Randy is 29.

♥ Whose siblings do/did you see the most? Definately Randy’s.  No contest.  We live lots closer to them than almost all of my family.

♥ Do you have any children together? Yup!  One beautiful baby boy, Morgan.

♥ What about pets? I wish!  I’d have cats and ferrets and fishes but our apartment only allows fishes in a SMALL bowl.  Boring.

♥ Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Over all it’s definately stressing over money but sometimes my having M.S. can be stressful too though Randy handles it like a champ.

♥ Did you go to the same school? Not even in the same state.

♥ Are you from the same home town? No.

♥ Who is smarter? Depends on the subject.

♥ Who is more sensitive? Definately Randy.

♥ Where do you eat out most as a couple? Wendy’s…it’s cheap.

♥ Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? To the Oregon Coast for our Honeymoon and I can’t wait to go back!

♥ Who has the craziest exes? We’ve honestly never compared that one.

♥ Who has the worse temper? Unfortunately for Randy it is me.  He’s sensitive and I’ve a short fuse. Poor man.

♥ Who does the cooking? Both of us.  Randy makes some killer spaghetti sauce!

♥ Who is more social? Depends on the situation.

♥ Who is the neat-freak? We tend to take turns on that one.

♥ Who is the more stubborn? Me

♥ Who hogs the bed? Randy says I do but I have pictures that prove otherwise.  🙂

♥ Who wakes up earlier? Randy.  He’s an angel and gets up with Morgan almost every morning.

♥ Where was your first date? The church house for a picnic and a HUGE checkers game and then the Jasmer home to watch Narnia.

♥ Who has the bigger family? The are the same size.  I have four brothers and he has one brother and three sisters.

♥ Do you get flowers often? Not really but he have me a purple tulip plant for Valentine’s day.  Those are my FAVORITE flowers.

♥How do you spend the holidays? With each other and our families.

♥ How long did it take to get serious? We dated for 2.5 weeks and then were engaged.

♥ Who eats more? depends…are we talking chocolate/sweets (me) or salty treats and bread (Randy).

♥ Who does/did the laundry? Randy is more than willing to put a loas in to wash but when it comes to folding…that’s pretty much all me.

♥ Who’s better with the computer? Randy

♥ Who drives when you are together? Randy

♥ When did you get engaged and how did he do it? I don’t know the exact date but he had all of my deaf students help.  Each person gave me a rose and signed a special message to me from him.  It was so sweet.  Then we continued on the path, had a picnic and he officially proposed on a little wooden bridge that crosses a stream

♥ When did you get married? I do know that exact date!  August 3, 2006

Rolly Polly Bug

March 9, 2009

Morgan has really started to take off rolling lately.  It’s so fun!  He starts out in one area of the room and all of the sudden he’s in another.  He loves to find corners and get stuck.  Good thing mom and dad always come to the rescue.  Super Mommy!  He is yet to roll off a piece of furniture.  Here’s to hoping it will stay that way…at least for a while.   🙂

Everyone keeps telling us “wait until…” and then reference some future mile stone.  To everyone I say: I will gladly wait!  I love watching him in each and every stage as he grows and develops.  I’m amazed almost daily as he is figuring out new ways he can move and get the things he wants.  He’s starting to scoot himself forward by amazingly minisule amounts until he FINALLY achieves whatever goal he has in mind.  He is so determined.

At one of our last pediatrician visits, the doctor said that Morgan was definately in line on the day they handed out personality in heaven.  He was not, however, in line when they passed out fat cells.  Our little boy just isn’t gaining enough weight.  He’s not losing, he just keeps dropping in percentile.  He started in the 38th and is down to the 16th.  The doctor also found a heart murmur.  Probably nothing too serious but it may be the reason he’s not gaining like he should.  We have an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist at Primary Children’s Hospital on April 17th so  I will let you know more about it then.

Morgan’s First Meal

February 8, 2009

In the last few weeks he has really discovered his gums and the ability to chew things. He chews on the bottle’s nipple instead of sucking, so he hasn’t been eating as much as playing after the first 3 ounces of formula.

This evening, when Morgan woke up from his nap and I was playing with him on the couch, Megan came in with a banana. He became really excited (Megan has given him a taste of a banana a few times). He loves the taste, texture and just trying to hold the banana!

Well, tonight he bit a chunk off the banana with his gums and then dropped the banana from his mouth. I quickly noticed the piece missing and fished it out of his mouth. So, we decided to have some fun and give hime a try at watered down rice cereal…we as new parents were so excited (as animated as he was about the banana)!

He did quite well for his first time. Of course, he made a mess, but had fun with Mom and Dad watching so intently. He loved grabbing the spoon away and chewing on it. Most of the rice cereal, as we expected ended up on his bib.

Enjoy the pictures…

Mail Surprise!

February 6, 2009

The other day we recieved a large package in the mail from the Crandall family in Arizona.  Although I REALLY wanted to open it, Randy insisted I wait until he got home becaus Spencer is his best friend and that meant he got to open it.  While being much tempted to open it early, I did manage to wait. Randy arrived home and opened it.  We found an awesome picture collage of Morgan that Kristin had created (she’s a great photographer) and had framed for us.  Check out her work.  If you are in Tuscon, Arizona and looking for a photographer…you should definately call her.

They even mailed us a color copy of each photo, the cropped black and white photo and a CD with the photos too.  Thank you!!  We love it, love it, love it!
